Recognize this couple? This is part 2 of a great engagement session with Mike and Amanda, this time from around San Francisco. Last time we shot at the Fair in San Luis Obispo county but this time we shot near their home.
For those of you that are super observant, you might actually see one of my previous grooms in the background of 2 of the images!
Oh my!
What a great time I had at Ashley and Brandt’s wedding! One of my favorite couples of all time and their friends and family were awesome! Such a great connection between them and their friends and family are all so close, I was just glad that I was invited!
The wedding was at the gorgeous Robert Hall Winery in Paso Robles (just North of San Luis Obispo) and the cake (which was delicious!) was done by my neighbors at Two Little Birds Bakery. Did I mention the after party at Level 4?
And a huge thanks to my friend Chris Stewart of Jen Stewart Photography who got awesome shots like the very last one below!

Last summer I took Caiden (my son, then 3 years old) to the fair to see the animals (and some livestock too! lol) and I was thinking what a great spot it would be for an engagement session. So this year I was headed home from a Carmel wedding and saw the fair was getting setup and immediately knew that I had to get Mike and Amanda to do this! They are a super fun couple who live in San Francisco but are having their wedding at the Santa Margarita Ranch next summer. With their style I knew they would be perfect for all the fun and colors of the fair.
This is part one of two as we also shot last weekend around San Franciso in the rain! Having had this much fun at the engagement sessions, I can’t wait to see what a blast we have at their wedding!
Had such a great time getting to know Tamara and Joe a few weeks ago for their engagement session! Being a wedding photographer my favorite part of the job is making clients happy, but that is closely followed by just getting the opportunity to meet so many great people! Tamara and Joe were a ton of fun and their interactions with each other was so great to see. The wedding is just a few weeks away at the stunning One Fort Mason in San Francisco and we are expecting some beautiful weather!
The best part of the shoot was when we were talking about places to get a good view of the city at night and we talk through a couple locations before Joe says “Oh yeah, my office has a nice roof-top if you want to check it out.” We head up there and it’s stunning! Check out the shots at the end, there was even a giant sculpture of a heart!
Sarah and Ben’s wedding took place at Hastings House and was a gorgeous and intimate wedding in Half Moon Bay. Hastings House is a beautiful garden setting and the weather was perfect. Most of the weddings I photograph are 200 or more guests so it’s always fun to get to shoot a smaller wedding where I really get to know everyone and really feel a part of the day. Maybe it’s the intimacy or maybe it’s just because Stephanie and my wedding was very small but I had a great time! After the garden wedding ceremony at Hastings House we did a photo session then drove over to the Garden Court Hotel in Palo Alto. The hotel is a great spot for an intimate reception and the staff was wonderful. Sarah and Ben’s signature drink was flowing and the food was great! Sarah’s family came in from all over the US while Ben’s family came in from his native Australia so I had a great time getting to know everyone and thank everyone for being so gracious with me! And thanks for the VB, that was great! You have to love a bride in a birdcage veil!

This is one of my favorite Photojournalistic photo’s from the wedding. It shows Sarah and Ben dancing then each of the other couples is their parents, very cool! 
Wow, have I ever been blessed with being a part of some awesome couple’s lives this year! Jenny and Tom’s wedding day started out at the beautiful Wine Valley Inn in Solvang, which is near Santa Barbara, with the ceremony at Old Mission Santa Inés, also in Solvang. Jenny is one of the sweetest people I have ever met and has a great sense of style so we were able to capture some wonderful moments while she was getting ready. She had this great cottage where a lot of her family and friends were getting ready and having a great time. Her family was so much fun and such a big group! The amazing part is just how close everyone is with each other, it was amazing to see all the love!
Tom and the guys were also at the Wine Valley Inn. Tom’s a great guy and a perfect match for Jenny, you often hear people say “they were made for each other” which may sound a bit cliché but is so true for these two! We got some great shots of Tom and the guys before heading over to the Mission for the ceremony. Tom is this burly looking guy but he is also one of the nicest people I’ve been lucky enough to work with, it’s so funny! The ceremony was beautiful and I found a great spot for the family photos out in the courtyard.
After that we headed over to the reception….WOW! Jenny, her family and Alyssah from Save the Date did such an great job with the design! Relatives were at the venue late into Friday night transforming the hall into an exception venue, very good work everyone! Lani at LBPS Events did an AMAZING job with the lighting, everything looked fantastic! Being a photographer who loves using lighting to enhance a scene, I can really appreciate what they did, it made my job even easier! Check out the dancing shot below, that was in the middle of the day which shows how good of work they do, all I had to do was add in some off camera strobes to balance to their accent light and it was beautiful!
The reception was a ton of fun and they even had a Photo Booth which is always a good time!
I will be getting together with Tom and Jenny again in about a week for a “Day After” shoot (yeah, I know, it’s not really the ‘day after’ 
and can’t wait to get to work on their wedding album as it will be delicious! I had such a great time, thanks to Jenny, Tom and their wonderful families!
