Mission San Antonio Engagement Photography

I’m finally able to sit down and blog again! Here’s a set from Rachel and John’s engagement session back in February at Mission San Antonio de Padua. Rachel and John live up in the Salinas-Monterrey area so I wanted to find somewhere in between us and I had never been to this mission so it seemed like a great opportunity to see something new. It was a bit of a drive out there but it really paid off as the mission had the most authentic and original feel to it of any of the California Mission’s that I have been too. It’s out on Fort Hunter Liggett so it’s very well protected and as it’s 40 minutes from the middle of nowhere it’s not all that highly visited. Very cool to see!

Rachel and John are awesome. It’s pretty simple to shoot a couple who’s head over heels in love and are just great people. We worked our way around the mission photographing them in front of 200 year old doorways and in the beautiful garden (which in February was still looking pretty good) and even explored some of the out buildings. The light was amazing, the weather was gorgeous and we all had a great time plus even got a bit of a history lesson by reading all the plaques around the mission. All in all, it really didn’t feel like “work!”
