Eberle Winery Wedding Photography
I shot Jennie and Cody’s Paso Robles wedding at Eberle Winery in Paso Robles Wine Country with the reception down in the wine caves. This was a last minute wedding for me as was just hired (many thanks to the awesome Paso Robles florist Flowers by Kim!) so it was fun getting to know them and their friends and family. It was a small wedding of about 35 close friends and family with an amazing 7 course meal down in the wine caves. We started off in Paso Robles for some getting ready images then headed over to Eberle Winery for the wedding ceremony. The lighting was just about perfect at sunset so I just had to add in a little off camera lighting so we didn’t end up with silhouettes for every image! It really was a beautiful sunset so we got some amazing color out of the sky.
The caves are always a bit challenging because not only are they very dark but also have fluorescent (green!) lighting and are very narrow. Thankfully I remembered to bring all my lighting equipment and my green color gels to cover the lights so everything balanced out well. Space is really the biggest issue but I love a good lighting challenge so it makes it very fun for me. The key to having a wedding in a challenging lighting situation is to hire a wedding photographer that really knows lighting!
I had a great time, thanks Cody and Jennie for having me and I’ll see you later this week for your Day After shoot!
This last image really shows what I love about being a wedding photographer as so many funny thing can happen unexpectedly! She’s actually a very sweet little dog who was yawning (not snarling) but I captured it at just the right moment to create a pretty humorous documentary image. I’ve worked with many other San Luis Obispo and Sonoma videographers who set up these kinds of shots but I find thatletting things happen and documenting them is so much more authentic and my wedding clients appreciate it later!
