San Luis Obispo Winery
While the vast majority of my shooting is wedding photography, I still mix it up a bit by doing commercial photography for San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles wineries like Tablas Creek Vineyard. My major at Cal Poly (SLO) was Ag Business with a Minor in Viticulture (I went on to Brooks Institute of Photography after that) so I am always so happy to get a chance to work with wine again. Plus, just look how beautiful the wine regions of San Luis Obispo are in that first picture!
Tablas Creek is a pretty fascinating winery located way back in the hills of West Paso Robles, not far from where I took that first image. They are part owned by French winery Chateau de Beaucastel and greatly influenced by their Rhone styled wines. Tablas Creek actually imported grape vines of all sorts of varieties to plant from Beaucastel so they have all these amazing wines that most of us can barely pronounce but taste delicious. I personally really enjoy the Rhone style wines as they are more approachable to make for some unique wines that compliment food much better than the more over-the-top style of Cabernet’s and other “Big” wines.
Which brings me to the best part of these sorts of jobs; I get to drink it after I photograph it!
